Hi!

My name is Heather and I recently bought a new Canon PowerShot.

Is it wrong for me to admit my love for this camera so soon in the relationship? Perhaps its the 14.1 hard-working megapixels that have me swooning? Or, its amazing color absorption that has my heart going pitter-patter? Or maybe, just maybe, it's the sleek, stylish design that has me carrying it around the city of Manhattan all day long? Then again, maybe all my heart needed was a little camera that came in orange?

Sigh.

Whatever it is, I love this camera. And I love the images it snaps as I wander around NYC and beyond. I hope you enjoy them, too.

Chess in Union Square

A friend once asked me if people really do play chess in Union Square, and I was like, "There are chess players in every park of NYC." Just walk around and you'll see tables of them in Bryant Park, Central Park, Washington Square, etc.

But I love this photo. Not only are the colors crisp and the details, sharp. But I love the concentration on the guy's face. He is playing to win!

I haven't played chess in years. I've become more of a Black Jack girl lately, and I only have time to be obsessed with one game at a time. But perhaps someday I will plop myself down across from one of these guys, and say, "Okay, I'm here. Let's play." And then, I will no doubt shuffle home with a loss under my belt. Lol.

But I don't mind. Just being a part of the adventure is the victory I crave.

Meanwhile, I will watch the game through the lens of my Canon PowerShot, capturing every detail and memory in surprisingly vivid color.
